HP or MP-recovery items

Tonic

This is a weaker version of the potion used in Final Fantasy V and Final Fantasy VI. Heals around 50 HP.

Potion

The Potion has made an appearance in every Final Fantasy game. A Potion typically restores between 25 and 250 hit points(HP), depending on the game. Early English language localizations used the name "Tonic."

Hi-Potion

A Hi-Potion typically recovers between 450 and 1000 HP. In early English language localizations, the name "Potion" was used instead, with the weaker Potion item being renamed to "Tonic."

X-Potion

An X-Potion restores a character's HP by 1000 HP. In some games it would completely restore the HP of a character.

Mega Potion

A more potent version of the X-Potion, it restores HP to all party members by 1000 or 2000 points.

Elixir

An Elixir restores both hit points and magic points to the user, and has appeared in most Final Fantasy games. In some games, the Megalixir (or Mega Elixir), a more powerful version of the Elixir, is also available and fully restores the party's HP and MP.
